West Orange, NJ (1/29/04) – Lincoln Educational Services Corporation, a leader in post-secondary education, announced today the acquisition of Southwestern College of Business. The transaction is Lincoln’s fourth acquisition since Stonington Partners purchased the Company in 1999, and brings to 28 the total of post-secondary career schools the Company owns and operates in 14 states.
Southwestern College of Business, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, serves entry-level professionals with a range of programs leading to certifications, diplomas and associate degrees in Business, IT and Allied Health. The College includes four Ohio campuses that serve the Dayton and Cincinnati markets and a fifth campus in Northern Kentucky. Southwestern is Lincoln’s third brand in the business education and allied health arenas, joining The Cittone Institute and CEI.
David F. Carney, Chairman and CEO of Lincoln Educational Services Corporation, said, “The addition of Southwestern College of Business is an excellent complement to Lincoln’s array of programs. In 2003, Lincoln launched an extensive allied health initiative, introducing medical assistant, medical administrative assistant, pharmacy technician and therapeutic massage and bodywork technology training to its growing list of programs. The addition of Southwestern College will introduce more allied health programs, including phlebotomy, to Lincoln’s healthcare training efforts.
